A couple of weeks ago, I drove nearly 50 miles to get to one of my
favorite little hold-in-the-wall, ma-and-pa greasy-spoon breakfast
joints, only to find it had gone out of business. No doubt the
competition from those un-classy, tasteless boring strip restaurants
did it in -- the vandalism, have they no respect?

Of course I was disappointed, but I found another place to eat
breakfast and enjoyed it. Never once, not even during bumper-to-
bumper rush hour traffic on the way home, did it occur to me to
write somebody and complain because my restaurant had disappeared.

Such is life...
